Supremacy of the Kodokan Spello at the qualifications of the Italian Cup, with 7 athletes in final

The qualifications for the final of the Italian Cup of Judo, that will take place in Crotone on May 30th and 31st, were held at the sports hall of Torgiano; for our region the athletes and qualified are 17 and represent 7 Companies.
The Kodokan Samurai Spello managed to place in the final 7 of his athletes, males and females, respectively:
Baroni Benedetta cat. 48Kg, Balzana Michael cat. 66Kg, Binucci Alessandro and Turrini Cristiano cat. 81kg, Mancini Massimo cat. 90Kg, Filippo Battistoni and Jorge Mosquera Ruiz cat. +100 kg.

The second leg of the Grand Prix, held in Umbria, on Saturday, March 14th, gave a smile to the giant of Spello: Filippo Battistoni got on the lowest step of the podium, a result which has projected him on the top of the national ranking. The bronze medal of Filippo, coached by brothers Famà, is the only that has been won by the Umbrian athletes in the male category of the 23rd International Tournament Yamashita Giano dell’ Umbria, in the over 100 kg category. Filed a beautiful fourth edition of the Cup

A tournament that saw the participation of 24 companies from Umbria, Lazio, Campania and Marche. The numbers of the participants are interesting and the technical level expressed by these young people is relevant, given the young age. Everything went well and the competitions, both in the morning and in the evening, lasted less than two hours, a very reasonable time; that has been appreciated by the large audience, composed mainly by relatives and friends.
